About Bandit

Bandit is a wonderful young dog that is sweet, funny, and smart. He loves nothing more than cuddling or playing with his people! He is always ready for adventure... or taking a nap on your lap, if you prefer. He is also rock solid with other dogs and everybody thinks it's adorable when he play bows when he sees another dog. He learns quickly and takes treats gently. He can have a lot of energy, so he will need plenty of exercise, walks, and toys.

He was originally brought to animal control after being confiscated by the police. He became part of the Safe Humane Chicago Court Case Dog Program where he received socialization and training while he waited in the shelter for a rescue group to take him. He also participated in playgroups at the shelter and proved himself to be great with all types of dogs. Since he was rescued, Bandit has been living in a foster home where he continues to work on training. He is housebroken, knows the commands Sit, Paw, Down, Watch me, and Wait. He had some resource guarding issues in the shelter with food items, but they haven't continued outside of the shelter environment. So far he has loved everyone he's met and was afraid of and avoided cats during a cat test. If you would like more information on Bandit, please email
