Chicago Dog Photography - Labrador’s Bucket List | AMSTAPHY
Charlie’s Dog Photography Session
Charlie’s mom has been busy checking off items on his “Bucket List” and it just so happens the next item on the list was a personal portrait session with Amstaphy, a Chicago dog photography company. Mr. Dougie, Charlie’s little brother also tagged along so their mom could finally get them both in a single portrait. Not only would they have fun during their portrait session, but now their mom could cherish their little personalities.
On the day of their portrait session, their mom thought it would be fun to bring along a bag filled with Charlie’s favorite toys, tennis balls. He just loves when mom throws him a few, you could say “he has a ball”… Anyway, Charlie was a good boy during his time in front of the camera. Mr. Dougie also did great, especially during the time we gave him a puppuccino. After an hour of photographing, we were done capturing portraits of both Charlie and Mr. Dougie by themselves and together. Before they left we set up a time for their mom to come back to the studio to view their edited portraits and select portraits that they would want hanging on their walls.
By the way, Charlie gets to be spoiled like every dog should. He has personal swimming classes every week at Doggy Paddle Aquatic Center For Dogs. That’s one of his top places to visit to have fun. Labradors and water just go hand-in-hand, don’t they?
When a week had passed and it was time for their ordering session, we projected on our big projector screen all the professional portraits we had taken during their portrait session in their very own personalized slideshow. After viewing (and with our help narrowing down a selection of favorite portraits) their mom had the opportunity to pick and choose what she wanted on her walls, including at her business Bow Wow Lounge. She decided on our popular “Photo Booth” composite print, which now hangs over their fireplace at their home. She also picked an extra portrait of Charlie resting on the floor, just like he does every day, and an extra portrait of Mr. Dougie enjoying his puppaccino.
Don’t you love how their portraits turned out?
Shar-Pei and Pocket Pittie Models for Ad Campaign
Meet Jacob and Bella (a Shar-Pei and Pocket Pittie)
This past winter pet parent, Susan, of Jacob and Bella (not from the movie Twilight) answered a dog model call for an ad campaign we were running for a dog toy company, Fluff & Tuff. After hundreds of entries, they were one of the few that were selected to take part in the campaign.
When we called to inform Susan that her fur babies where selected to be part of the campaign, you can imagine the excitement in her voice. During the call we went over all the details of the campaign. We also got to hear a little about these up and coming models.
Jacob, was the first fur baby in the family. He is now 8 years old, a blind Shar-Pei with one white eye and one cloudy black eye - gorgeous pup! He has a very expressive wrinkly face and a curly tail, typical of Shar-Peis.
Bella is a 9 month old pocket pittie with a black and brindle coat (with matching white socks). She has lots of energy, which she puts to use on her older brother, Jacob. There’s not one human (or toy) that she doesn’t love. Bella has been part of the family since she was saved by her mom. Here’s a photo of her when she had parvo and mange.
On the day of our portrait session, we first photographed Bella playing with the toys from the ad campaign, she definitely loves her toys. Soon after we photographed Jacob, which was a bit tricky, since he’s blind, but we managed to capture his personality in many portraits. After we individually photographed each dog, we then took several portraits of them together. That was lots of fun (for me at least).
After our session we scheduled a day for Susan to come back to the studio so we could project the awesome dog portraits we captured during their portrait session. We started with a slideshow of all the portraits. Afterwards we rearranged the portraits in order of favorites and with our help, we were able to select a portrait collection for her living room.
Two weeks after the ordering session, we delivered and installed the finished wall portraits on Susan’s wall.
Don’t you just love the portraits we picked out?

German Shepherd Dog Model for Ad Campaign
German Shepherd Dog Model with AMSTAPHY Pet Photography
Mambo, the German Shepherd, recently had a modeling gig with us, AMSTAPHY pet photography. He did so good during his portrait session that his mommy ended up buying portraits of him to display at her business, K9 University, in Chicago.
During our session with Mambo, we took several photos of him playing with dog toys (from the ad campaign). Then we took individual portraits of him standing, sitting, jumping, and eating. His personality really came out in the portraits. The portraits turned out so good that we had a hard time picking the best photos to showcase to his mom.
Just to take a quick minute to explain the workflow here at the studio. After completing our portrait session with your pets, we schedule a day within a week, where you will return to the studio so we may showcase the awesome photos we captured of your pet. But before we show you the portraits, we touch up the images to make them look the best they can be.
Then during the ordering session with the owner, we present the portraits in a personal slideshow for the owners to enjoy. After the slideshow, we explain and present all the products we offer here at AMSTAPHY. To better help owners decide on which portraits they will be purchasing, we project their walls from home with the actual portraits, so they may imagine what their walls will look like once we install their portraits at their home.
In this ordering session with us, we went over all the portraits and discussed the best places where she could display her baby. After guiding her and explaining all the options he had, she decided on having us install the portraits at her business, since she spends so much time there. We also agreed, since she (and her clients) will be able to enjoy Mambo everyday - FOREVER!
